NCC-Sp Assay Process to Order

Sign up for Rosalind Franklin

Sign up for Rosalind Franklin using the 2 forms (one is office access to the portal to receive lab results and the other form is to register the provider via NPI) and return via email to clinlab@rosalindfranklin.edu. They will create a log in and password for you to access the portal within 2 business days.

Order Your Sampling Kit(s)

Email clinlab@rosalindfranklin.edu when you need to order kits.

Provide the office address for shipment as well as how many (maximum number is 5 kits per one order).

A kit can be shipped directly to the patient using the requisition form in the Blood Sample Ordering and Shipping section.

  • The kits are provided free of charge
  • The kits will arrive at your office or the patient's home in 2-3 business days
  • Kits will include a requisition form, pre-paid return postage FedEx label and required blood sample FedEx packaging envelope.
  • Kit contains one royal blue serum vial 6ml (whole blood only) - check expiration date prior to use

Accessing Laboratory Results

Laboratory results will be emailed to the email address that you provided in the Web Station user authorization form (from Rosalind Franklin). The results will take about 2-4 weeks to return via email back to the office (Orphalan will not see lab results)

Ordering Labs

Order the lab for your patient as a non-standard order for NCC-Sp assay using your central lab process; enter it as "specialty lab" or "physician order"

Blood Sample Ordering and Shipping

For all patients who you are ordering the NCC-Sp assay: Place the following items inside the kit for the patient to take with them for their blood draw:

  1. Printed patient laboratory order
  2. Completed requisition form
  3. Pre-printed FedEx label
  1. FedEx sample shipping bag
  2. Label the vial with patient name and date of birth
  3. Return the blue collection vial to the kit

Requisition Form

For patients getting their blood drawn in your office/lab: use provided kits and ship via FedEx same day (to ensure delivery within 24 hours at the laboratory) using preprinted label and sample envelope. Due to the availability of laboratory services and hours, please ensure that shipments depart from your office / lab between Monday and Wednesday.

For patients requiring a kit at home: complete the requisition form and check off "Ship kit directly to the patient" then return it via email to clinlab@rosalindfranklin.edu. Upon receiving the completed form, a kit will be shipped directly to the patient's address.

For patients using Exam One (not using your lab services): Patients must call Exam One Specialty Collections Monday–Friday 7am–5pm PST 1-888-302-7652 to schedule an appointment (use reference name Rosalind Franklin University) at a nearby clinic or schedule mobile phlebotomy to come to their home.

Your office needs to provide a kit to the patient directly if you did not schedule it to be shipped to the patient's home. Exam One must ship samples (via FedEx same day) back to Rosalind Franklin on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.
